Photography is about abstracting the world, finding the essence and separating it from distracting elements. The subject’s form, shadow shape, highlights, and negative space, are more important then the actual subject matter. When creating photographs, I seek simple curves, lines, and color, and I manipulate orientation and scale to abstract the subject. If color is important, I use bright colors.
