I tend towards employing the tools of art making in an expressive/spontaneous /gestural manner.
From the foundation of figurative drawing in my art training, I have struggled with what and how best to use art tools. During this process, I've discovered that I am most satisfied with those works that come naturally from within, whatever art medium I may be using: pencil, charcoal, Sumi ink, monotype printing, acrylic, oil on canvas and mixed media.
The subject of my art pieces range from portraits to landscape and inner-scapes.
Chogyam Trungpa's book Dharma Art refers to creative works as those that "...spring from the awakened meditative state, characterized by directness, unselfconsciousness and nonaggression".
I intend to practice my art this way.
