DAVID LEE (1942 - 2022) Legacy Member 305 333-7468 [email protected] www.davidleebotanist.com Influenced by the natural landscapes of my childhood in Eastern Washington State, I fed my passion for plants and the natural world through a doctorate in botany, taught at the university level, and conducted research in many beautiful landscapes--particularly tropical and Asian. In retirement and in Crestone, I took up papermaking, combining my background in macrophotography and natural history to produce works of increasing size and sophistication, experimenting with different pulps, marbling, and pulp-dyeing. I find that the somewhat random processes in laying down pulp free-form and producing patterns through the mixing of colored pulps produce patterns seen in plants and landscapes at different scales. |
