The essence of my work lies Beyond the surface of the paper. Through color, light, and shape a landscape takes form wielded from both the mind, and more importantly the heart. For me the art of Georgia O'Keeffe, Charles Partridge Adams, Winslow Homer, and Stephen Quiller meld with the writings of Aldo Leopold, John Muir, Terry Tempest Williams and Barry Lopez. The creation is a quiet process with as much time spent in thought as with the brush. There is an invitation for the viewers to see my landscape, to step into the scene, and to create their own. And always for me there is a sense of wonder, of joy, and of reverence.
