[email protected] 719-936-5373 As long as I can remember, from early childhood, I’ve loved to create beauty. My Great Grandmother taught at a young age me how to Crochet, cook and sing her songs. I was in nature most of the time, growing up in the Northeast. The forests gave me peace of mind. Art gave me inspiration to enjoy the world around me, and I created anything I could with my hands - painting, flower arrangements, drawing. Later in life I went to art school while I was a young pregnant mother. I learned a few things about printing, ceramics, charcoal drawing and pastels. When I had my baby, I began my journey into Holistic health and learned about energy healing, went to massage school then was called to learn midwifery which I ended up doing full-time for 25 years. Along the way I beaded things and made soaps and herbal remedies, doing what I could to make a living with these things. Also, my love of the creative ways to build was a long-term focus here in Crestone. I designed and built my homes and gardens, where I implemented many forms of art in the building, such as bottle wall art and mosaics. and in the landscaping, honoring my love for the nature of terracing and re-using materials to build with. Now I am retired in the on-call midwifery world, however I will always consider this one of my best arts I have done. Now I paint and make shadow boxes and Altars, among other things. I find my spiritual calling and learning to be about all things we can support in this life as creative forces to share and find new ways to make JOY in the world! My Gallery, Life Skills Creative Art of Living LLC, is now located in my handmade Earth Ship. I have had workshops and retreats here for many years also, to share what I have learned about the art of living and about building by re-using ‘trash’ to conserve on the dwindling resources. My Joy in life is to share all these things I have learned and am still learning always! |
